A New Bozeman Hang Out – 406 Brewing Company

Bozeman just got another place to hang out. Saturday was a gorgeous night to go on a bike ride so the friends and I decided we should check out the new ’406 Brewery’. With two other Microbreweries in the Gallatin Valley, you think it would quench the thirst of area residents. But the nice weather brought filled the bike racks and the seats at the new Brewery. The 406 currently has 3 brews on tap; A pale, an ale, and a porter. All very good!

One of the cool things about the 406 is the decor. Most materials have been recycled, including some creative bar tops, footrests, and a benches. Plans are in the works for food to be added to the menu but for now you can enjoy a cold beer anytime from 10am-8pm.

406 Brewing Company is located at 101 E. Oak, Suite D, Bozeman MT 59715

Folf – Disc Golf in Bozeman

During a discussion on the health of a certain individual the other day, my friend quipped ‘We think she would be rid of all of her ailments if she would throw around the frisbee a couple of times a week.

It was pointed out that frisbee makes you run, reach, stretch, and just plain get the heart pumping. I am not an avid frisbee player but do own one. I know it does get my heart pumping, along with any spectators who are watching and in range of a misguided toss! In Bozeman, frisbee isn’t as widespread as in other Montana university towns like…Missoula. However, Bozeman recently added a Folf course to its ‘Main Street to the Mountains’ trail system. Located on Oak Street, behind REI, Rose Park is a 12 hole folf course that is suppose to cater to more of the beginner and intermediate folfers. Because it is located by new developement, trees should not affect play. Other folf courses around Bozeman are located at Bohart Ranch, Battle Ridge, and Big Sky ski resort.

A good website to check out all Disc Golf courses is www.dgcoursereview.com

Chick Pea Cafe in Bozeman

Always looking for a new place to eat out in Bozeman, I heard about this new Mediterranean Restaurant somewhere downtown. After posing the question on Facebook of ‘where the heck is this place?’, I was reminded it is just on the north end of the block from Ted’s Montana Grill, on the corner of Willson and Mendenhall.

The last time I ate Moroccan in Denver, the group was tempted into the restaurant by the ‘belly dancers’ on the menu and not the food. The food was quite bland compared to the menu at Chick Pea Cafe! Every dish that came out looking delicious and patrons asked the table next door exactly what had they ordered? It all looked so good..and tasted even better. The belly dancers in the Denver restaurant never showed…nor did flavorful food.

The Chick Pea doesn’t serve alcohol but after stuffing yourself with all of the great food… There is no room! I would highly recommend it! To find out what is on their menu, go to: www.chickpeabozeman.com

If you are hungry for good food, head to: 25 North Willson Ste A, Bozeman 59715. (406)-551-2007.
